Court rejects Siemens request to suspend suit against Technopromexport
MOSCOW, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- Siemens has asked the Moscow Arbitration Court to suspend proceedings on a suit it filed against industrial corporation Rostec’s affiliates Technopromexport LLC and Technopromexport PJSC, but the court denied the request, according to information obtained by PRIME in the court on Tuesday.
A representative of Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies, a Russian affiliate of Siemens, said it wanted to suspend its suit as the affiliate filed a similar suit against the same companies, and that a verdict on one case will have force in both cases.
Judge Ayuna Tsydypova said that the court will continue hearing the case filed by Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies against affiliates of Rostec on December 11.
Siemens said in July that all the four turbines meant to be used on a Russian power plant on the Taman Peninsula were illegally shipped to Crimea, forcing it to cancel its licensing agreements to sell power equipment to Russian firms and suspend the current agreements with state-run companies. Later Siemens filed a claim against Rostec’s companies seeking to void a delivery contract.
Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies, a joint venture of Siemens and Russia’s Power Machines, also filed a suit asking the court to void a 2015 contract under which is supplied the turbines to Technopromexport PJSC.
